Anne lives in Provincetown, MA where she busks for the tourists in the summer and writes new songs in the long quiet winters.
Anne lived in New York City for a long time and still calls it home. She played many downtown clubs while living there, including Kenny’s Castaways, The C Note, and Rockwood Music Hall. She wrote songs on the subway and got to play with good friends and great musicians.
On the street, Anne performs approximately 60 shows each summer, playing her own songs as well as many covers ranging from spirituals to Joan Jett. Neil Young and U2 are the artists Anne covers most naturally.
PENNSYLVANIA, Anne’s new album produced by Jack Petruzzelli, was released in August 2010 and is on sale now. Read the liner notes to learn about all the cool people who helped make the album. There is a great deal to say about the recording process and all that Anne learned, but a fact sheet is hardly the time or place.
Anne has asked many people, friends and strangers, whom she sounds like and the most common answer is: nobody. While Anne is perfectly content being hard to peg, she could also roll with her friend Scott’s answer, which came in a text: Sinead plus Morissey times the Vienna Boys Choir.
In 2005, Anne recorded her first album, an ep, called UNTITLED MIND. UNTITLED MIND was described as having “tracks...that will get stuck in your head and leave you humming all day” (Girlfriends Magazine). Indie-Music.com says Anne “[lets] her voice shine through and speak for itself”.
Thanks to David Drake, Anne is a sometimes actress who most recently had the privilege of appearing as Mrs. Gibbs in Our Town at the Provincetown Theater.
